How to Play

KWordle is a word-guessing game where you try to guess a secret 5-letter word in 6 attempts or fewer.

Game Rules

  1. Target: Guess a random 5-letter word selected from the word list
  2. Attempts: You have 6 attempts to guess the correct word
  3. Valid Words: Only words from the accepted word list are allowed as guesses
  4. Feedback: After each guess, you receive visual feedback for each letter

Making a Guess

  • Type 5 letters using the on-screen keyboard or your Kindle’s physical keyboard
  • Press the ✓ (Enter) key to submit your guess
  • Use the ← (Backspace) key to delete letters
You must enter exactly 5 letters before submitting a guess. If you try to submit with fewer letters, you’ll see a “Not enough letters” message.

Visual Indicators

KWordle uses special indicators optimized for Kindle’s black and white e-ink display:
The letter is in the word and in the correct position.Example: If the target word is “CRANE” and you guess “CRATE”, the letters C, R, and A will show ■ because they’re in the correct positions.
The letter is in the word but in the wrong position.Example: If the target word is “CRANE” and you guess “TREAD”, the letters R, E, and A will show □ because they exist in the word but are in different positions.
The letter is not in the word at all.Example: If the target word is “CRANE” and you guess “STORM”, the letters S, T, O, and M will show × because they don’t appear in the target word.

Indicator Key

The game displays a helpful key above the keyboard: 
■ = Correct spot    □ = Wrong spot    × = Not in word

Winning and Losing

Winning

You win when you guess the correct word within 6 attempts. The game will:
  • Display “You won!” message
  • Update your statistics
  • Track which attempt you won on for the guess distribution chart

Losing

You lose if you use all 6 attempts without guessing the word. The game will:
  • Display “Game over! The word was [WORD]” message
  • Show you what the correct word was
  • Update your statistics (current streak resets to 0)

Scoring System

KWordle tracks several metrics to measure your performance:
  • Games Played: Total number of games completed
  • Games Won: Total number of games you’ve won
  • Win Percentage: (Games Won / Games Played) × 100
  • Current Streak: Consecutive games won without losing
  • Max Streak: Your longest winning streak ever
  • Guess Distribution: How many games you won on each attempt (1-6)
Try to guess the word in as few attempts as possible to improve your guess distribution and maintain your winning streak!

Game States

The game tracks the following states for each letter cell:
  • Empty: No letter entered yet
  • Filled: Letter entered but not yet submitted
  • Correct: Letter is correct and in the right position (■)
  • Present: Letter is in the word but wrong position (□)
  • Absent: Letter is not in the word (×)
  • Unused: Letter not yet guessed (shown on keyboard)

Starting a New Game

Click the New Game button to:
  • Select a new random word
  • Reset the game board
  • Clear all previous guesses
  • Keep your statistics intact
Starting a new game before completing the current game will count as an unfinished game and may affect your statistics.
